MCMD here from the Dedicated Servers. I am hoping to use this Blog as a forum to stay in touch with fans and people I know. Feel free to leave a comment or ask a question. I love to hear from people
Here are some snippets from the new Madvillian CD. Even though these snippets didn't blow my mind I am really excited for this album. The first one was so good I have to hope that this one will be just as good.
I think there should be an unwritten rule in music. No one should ever be able to put car sounds or police sirens in their music. This only becomes a problem when I am driving but that is the only time I listen to music. I always think someone is honking at me or I need to pull over. It just isn't cool man.
I came across this group Owl City because Ammo listens to them all the time and I saw they were coming to the Venue and sold out their show. Now I know I will get flak for this but to me Owl city sounds like they are just trying to be Postal Service. I am not saying that they are bad I actually dig a lot of their songs. At first I thought maybe it was the same singer but I looked it up and its not.
Also something about it seems contrived and forced. I don't know what it is but I feel it. Maybe it is because I write songs my self but a lot of the lyrics make no sense and just try to be overly deep. "I will disguise myself as a sleeping pill and descend inside of you" somewhere in the world an Emo kid was just validated. Well you guys be the judge.
Incase you haven't already go check out our new song "Running Around Town" featuring eleven. It is playing on our myspace Myspace.com/dedicatedservers. We home to have it up on facebook soon but we are still trying to get approval to post our songs up there. I am really excited about the new album and I hope people like it.
I don't know how I feel about this. Deep down part of me really wants to like this game but I feel like I shouldn't get it. I feel like I have really been burnt by Nintendo on this whole Wii thing and I really don't want to give them any more money. How do you guys feel about this? Do you think this game looks fun?
"Twilight's fantasy is that the gorgeous gay guy can be your boyfriend, and for the slightly awkward teenage girls who consume the books and movies, that's the clincher."
LoL This is actually a pretty good article about why vampires have become so popular as of late.
Man I love Stephan Colbert sooooo much. Here he is talking about Obama's proposal of lengthening the time our kids (and by that I mean Noble) spend in school. Check it out.
This is an open letter from David Cross to Larry the Cable Guy. If you don't like Larry the Cable Guy then you will think this is funny. David Cross totally owns him.
So I don't know if you guys saw the trailer for the new nightmare on Elmstreet movie but I actually kinda want to see this. Here I am posting a rewind theatre of it from IGN where these guys slow the trailer down and talk about it but if you want you can youtube the new trailer. Anyone want to go see it with me?
ABC did a report on being muslim in america and here is a clip from it. I find it interesting like he said that in one town you can have such polar opposite reactions to racism. It makes me sad that these people who are probably really great people in their everyday life can be so hurtful to someone who is a different culture. I am glad to see though that people are getting fed up with it.
Last night Lubi and I finished the HBO show "Six Feat Under" and I think it is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. Which is weird because this show is more about peoples relationships and less about action and violence. I think the first season was probably the slowest but was still very interesting to me. Once I got to know the characters I fell in love with this show.
The one warning I would give you is this show can be depressing a lot of the time but it doesn't shy away from taboo topics and I think it really takes an honest look at many situations a lot of people don't like to think about. There are a couple episodes that just tore my heart out and stomped on it. I seriously wanted to cry (although i am incapable). Which may seem like a bad thing but I find it refreshing to get so emotionally involved in a show that you feel for these imaginary characters.
I promised J-rad's mom I would let her borrow this next but if anyone wants to borrow it after her please let me know.
So a couple weeks ago I started running out of music to listen to at work. I came up with this foolish idea that perhaps there could be something to learn if I went through and listened to all these artists that I hate but for some reason are very popular. Here is a brief summary of the albums I have listened to so far.
Carter 3 (Lil Wayne)
This was the first album I listened to. I listened to this entire album from front to back on Lala.com and I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought. Once you get past Lil Wayne's annoying voice he actually has some funny lines. Although I would never buy this album because there really is no valuable substance here. Just a lot of songs about how tough and sexual lil wayne is.
Including a song Called "Pussy Monster" which contains such heart warming lyrics as "Im Da Pussy Monsta, Da Pussy Monsta,Da Pussy Monsta,Da Pussy Monsta, Gurl U Gotta Feed Me ,Pussy ,Pussy Pussy,Pussy Pussy,Pussy, Pussy"
"I Gotta Taste For U,Now Wat U Wanna Do, Gurl U Cold Let Me Suck Out Ur Flu"
Probably the best song on this album is "Mr. Carter" Which is him and Jay-z. All and all I have to say I kinda enjoyed listening to this album and actually might check him out again if he makes another album but again I wont give him my money. I guess I understand the appeal though.
Isouljaboytellem (Soulja Boy)
This is the worst album I have ever heard. I couldn't even finish this album. I listened to like 3 songs and honestly I don't understand how he got someone to distribute this album. All of his songs go like this. (Name)+(4-5 hip hop sounding words)+(drag out words)+(catchy beat) Repeat until head explodes. I would never buy one of his albums I am sorry.
Honestly this album is pretty good as sad as that sounds. I mean it obviously appeals to its market with songs about getting out of school and hanging out with your friends but technically its not that bad. It's got good music and Miley has a nice voice. I can see why she is so popular among kids. I don't think I would ever buy one of her albums but maybe if she is still making music in 5 yrs and she escapes the soul crushing grasps of Disney. Also I have to admit that new song of hers is pretty catchy.
Paris (Paris Hilton)
*VOMIT* This album is just sad. There is no redeamable qualites here. At least soulja boy can say he sold a lot of albums. This is a piece of shit. The worst part is when Paris wispers with echo on her voice. It's like my ear is being molested. She has such amazing lyrics as,
"Boys, boys, boys, boys, fightin over me If you wanna go all the way your gonna need a black card and welcome to parie."
*VOMIT*
I am not going to post a video cause I don't want to do that to you guys.
So at this point I need help. Does anyone have any suggestions for horrible albums I can listen to? Preferably something that was popular for some reason but is regarded as shitty. Let me know
So it has been a while sense I posted on here. As some of you may have known P-nut got us set up on Facebook and it has been dominating my free time. I will try now to redirect my attention back to my blog. Hopefully people still check this.
